FAQ

What is bakuchiol?

A compound from the babchi plant (Psoralea corylifolia), used in skincare as a gentler alternative to retinol.

How is bakuchiol different from retinol?

It targets a similar look, lines and tone, with less irritation. In a 12-week trial, 0.5% bakuchiol was comparable to 0.5% retinol, with less scaling and stinging (Dhaliwal et al., 2019). It is an alternative, not an equivalent.

Is HALENE safe to use during pregnancy?

We don't make pregnancy-safety claims. Bakuchiol has not been studied in pregnant women. Please consult your healthcare provider.

Can I use HALENE with other actives like AHA, BHA, or vitamin C?

Generally, yes. Bakuchiol is well tolerated alongside most actives. Introduce one new product at a time, and patch test first.

How long until I see results?

The clinical study measured results at 12 weeks. Skin renewal takes time. We don't promise overnight change.

Where are HALENE products made?
